Peer Support Resources
First Responders are exposed to mental and physical trauma in the line of duty that can result in Mental Health Disorders or Post Traumatic Stress Injuries. Should you have the need, please reach out to one or more of these resources. If you have questions about knowing which is the best fit for you, your firefighter or family please email us at [email protected].
Dealing with a critical incident is often difficult but coping with critical incident stress can be easier to work through with proper planning on the front end. Please view steps to assist in coping during the first 48.

NextRung.org
833.698.7863 (National Peer Support Line) | nextrung.org
Our mission is to help combat mental health issues among Firefighters and First Responders. Mental health issues and an alarming amount of suicides have become more of an issue among Firefighters and EMS Personnel ( Most recently they have even begun outnumbering Line of Duty Deaths). By providing peer support (one-on-one conversation with another firefighter/first responder) and financial assistance for licensed counseling (we will find a counselor who fits you, that lives in your area, and help cover the cost of the first cycle of sessions), we hope to give our brothers and sisters a way to fight back and provide them with an understanding of what they are experiencing. We also give back to families who have lost their Firefighter/First Responder to suicide by providing a care package and monetary donation.
